The event

Two hours, one question: what does AI actually change inside an advertising workflow?

The industry is talking about AI. Far fewer people can describe what it changes inside a real workflow, on a real budget.

That is the brief for AAAW. Not another panel concluding that AI matters without showing what it does. Every session is built to land on specifics: which task the agents took over, what failed at first, what it cost, and what the team did with the hours it returned.

The format favours proof over opinion. One live demonstration, because a question about what agents actually do is better answered by watching one run. Three round tables with practitioners who operate this in production rather than vendors presenting a roadmap. And a guest list weighted towards the buy side.

The event falls on the Wednesday of Advertising Week New York, a five minute walk from the Penn District. Doors at 4:30 PM, two hours on stage from 5:00 to 7:00, then drinks for anyone who can stay.

Why now

Three things the industry has not settled

Every vendor in advertising has shipped an AI story in the last eighteen months. Few agree on what it replaces, what it augments, or who is accountable for the outcome. Three open questions, one per round table.

01

The story is ahead of the system

Autonomy is demonstrated everywhere and rarely runs unattended on real budgets. The distance between the keynote and the working week is where the industry currently sits, and the people operating in that gap are seldom the ones on stage.

02

Nobody asked the people doing the work

Planners, traders and ad ops leads have a precise view of what the agents have taken on and what will stay with the team. That view rarely reaches the people who buy the software.

03

No agent works alone

An agent that cannot read another company's data, or act through another company's infrastructure, remains a demonstration. Operating at scale requires competitors to agree on standards the industry has left unresolved for fifteen years.

What does AI change for the doers?

The planners, traders and ad ops leads working on these platforms daily. What the agents have taken on, what remains with the team, and how the role changes over the next eighteen months.

Round table 2

AI forces the ecosystem to collaborate

Agents cannot operate across a market with no common standards. Platforms, curators, publishers and standards bodies on what has to be shared, and what remains competitive.

Two more to be announced

Two seats are still open, one for a head of trading or activation on the agency side, one for an ad ops or yield lead at a streamer or broadcaster.

The room

Lightbox, Midtown Manhattan

Four thousand square feet of programmable wall. Lightbox was rebuilt for a digital world, with projection mapping across the full room, multi level sound and fully configurable surfaces.

A fitting setting for a demonstration of software that makes decisions: the live segment runs floor to ceiling, and the entire room reads the same screen at the same time.

The venue seats 140 and holds 300 standing. The guest list is capped at 75, which keeps the room comfortable and the conversations audible.

Advertising Week New York

October 5 to 8, Penn District. AAAW takes place on the Wednesday evening, a five minute walk away.

Most guests will already be in New York for the week.
